LOVE. REAL LIFE. CONNECTION.GrandmaLitt and her daughter together

About GrandmaLitt

Welcome to GrandmaLitt—a place created from love, real life, and the journey of caring for my mother as she lives with dementia. My dementia caregiving journey began in 2021. For about four years, I carried so much inside. I did not have anyone I could truly share my feelings with, because it seemed like no one around me really understood what I was going through. Some people may have had a relative with dementia, but they were not living with them every day. They were not the ones waking up with them, caring for them, staying up night after night with sleepless nights, navigating the changes, making decisions, feeling the worry, or carrying the day-to-day responsibility. I was. There were days when I cried, felt frustrated, asked “Why me?”, and felt completely alone. I had nowhere to release the emotions that came with being a full-time caregiver for someone I love. In 2026, I began sharing videos of my mother, GrandmaLitt. What started as a way to finally express what I had been holding in for years became a place of connection. I began to see that so many other caregivers were carrying the same feelings—quietly, privately, and often alone. GrandmaLitt was created so caregivers would know they are not alone. Here, we share the real journey—not just the difficult moments, but also the laughter, memories, unexpected joy, and precious connections. This is a place where caregivers can feel understood, encouraged, and supported. GrandmaLitt is also a resource for caregivers and families supporting someone with dementia. Through our videos, conversations, encouragement, and interactive activities, we hope to help create more moments of connection. Our games are designed with love to help caregivers redirect gently, start conversations, bring up memories, and spend meaningful time with the people they love. Dementia may change many things, but it does not erase the need to feel loved, safe, included, and connected. If you are a caregiver, please remember: your feelings are valid. It is okay to be tired. It is okay to cry. It is okay to need support. And it is okay to celebrate the small wins. You are doing more than you know. With love, Dr. Angie Locus-Kelly Creator of GrandmaLitt
